Hawks attended the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond, on March 21, 2025.
Michaela Gross battled persistent winds to clock 18:20.97 in the 5,000 meters —and qualify for the NJCAA Outdoor D-I Nationals to be held in Hutchinson, Kansas on May 15-17, 2025. Her time is the fastest outdoor 5,000 by a Hawk Woman this century.
Odin Desir cracked the 11.00 second 100 meter barrier in spite of having to battle a stiff headwind. His lifetime best 10.91 placed him second in the NCAA D-I Meet that included student/athletes from such established D-I programs as Fordham, Wagner, George Washington University, the College of William & Mary, VCU, George Mason University, the University of Buffalo and the University of Richmond.
In the 400 meters, HCC freshman Furious Trammel and Austin McCoy made their presence known, placing second and third in the prestigious gathering. Their 48.08 and 48.36 clockings are the fastest outdoor 400 times by Hawk runners in over two-decades. McCoy's time was a significant .59 of a second improvement over his previous PR of 48.95 that he ran to win the high-powered Mid-Penn Conference Championship for James Buchanan High School last May.
The Hawks head South again for week-two of the outdoor campaign, competing in the Doc Jopson Invitational hosted by Bridgewater College on March 28-29th.
