- The Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center (ARCC) opened in October 1988.
- The ARCC is open to the students, faculty and college staff, as well as the community for special events.
- The ARCC serves more than 200,000 visitors annually.
- The ARCC offers the Courtside Café for special events.
- The ARCC houses 14 collegiate athletic programs.
- HCC is a member of the Maryland Junior College Conference (JUCO) and a member of Region 20 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
- In 2000, the HCC Men’s Track and Field team brought home the first NJCAA National Team Championship in any sport for HCC! The team captured the Men’s Team Title at the NJCAA National Marathon Championships.
- The Hawks women's softball team has participated in the NJCAA National tournament 1993, 1997, 2001, 2006 and 2019.
- The Hawks volleyball team has participated in the NJCAA National tournament 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
- The Hawks Baseball team finished 3rd at the NJCAA Division I baseball tournament in 2008.
- The Hawks Men's Basketball team participated in the NJCAA National tournament in 2013.
- Each season the Hawks send cross country and track athletes to compete at the NJCAA National tournaments.
- The HCC Hawk Booster Club, along with the Booster Leadership Group, is a subsidiary of the HCC Foundation and uses all membership fees, donations, and fundraisers to support HCC scholar athletes.
