The Hawks women's volleyball team travelled to northwest Ohio last weekend (8/30-8/31) to participate in the Owens Express Invitational against high level midwest region opponents. The event was held at Owens Community College in Perrysville, OH with the Hawks facing 4 opponents over 2 days. Of the 4 matches played, Hagerstown lost their first match against St. Clair County CC (1-3) and took the remaining 3 matches to full 5 sets, winning two (Kalamazoo Valley CC, (3-2) and Delta College (3-2), and losing the third to Muskegon CC (2-3). The early season team building resulting from this trip should prove paramount as they inch further into their season.
