
Hagerstown CC volleyball posted an impressive 9-0 winning streak, as they played their way through the conference in September and October, however, the streak came to an end on Sunday evening, when the Hawks lost to Harford Community College 3-1. Play was very competitive between Hagerstown and Harford in the first two sets, with the Hawks coming up short (23-25) and (20-25). Hagerstown kept the momentum in the third set, winning (25-15), but succomded to the Fighting Owls in the fourth set, (15-25), to lose their first match since September 5th. Katie Morgan (13) posted 9 kills, Macie Chrisman (18) had 6 kills, Madison Baker (7) had 21 assists, and Jenna Shank (10) had 13 digs.
On Wednesday, October 6th, Hagerstown hosted the Christendom Crusaders for their last home match of the season. Winning in three sets, (25-17, 25-20, 25-21), Katie Morgan (13) lead the Hawks with 9 kills and 5 aces. Madison Baker (7) had 17 assists, and Aliyah Dorsey (2) had 12 digs. On Tuesday, October 12th, the Hawks traveled to Potomac State College of WVU, winning again in three sets (25-21, 25-17, 25-23). Katie Morgan (13) had 9 kills, Drew Gordon (17) had 8 kills and Macie Chrisman (18) had 6 kills. Madison Baker (7) had 32 assists, and Jenna Shank (10), Laran Taulton (6), and Aliyah Dorsey (2) all had 6 digs each.
Next match for the Hawks, (10-5 overall, 8-1 in conference play), will be at Christendom College, Fairfax, VA, on Monday, October 25th, starting at 6:00 p.m., and then it's on to the Region 20 Division II Volleyball Championship tournament hosted by Montgomery College, Rockville on Saturday, October 29th and Sunday, October 30th, times to be determined.
