The Hawks took the road to Ohio to participate in the Owens Express Invitational at Owens Community College over the Labor Day Weekend.
In four matches, the Hawks were successful in three.
They fell in their first match against Waubonsee; 14-25, 19-25, 24-26.
After match one, the Hawks didn't lose a set the remaining of the tournament.
The Hawks success came against Jamestown (25-23, 25-21, 25-16); Erie (25-15, 25-5, 25-7); and School Craft (28-26, 25-10, 25-12).
"We are pleased with how the girls played together," Rebecca Morgan said.
In the combined four games, Britney Malphurs had 14 aces; Maddie Miller and Katie Morgan each with 9; and Lexie Schlotterbeck with 8.
Kiersten Erickson led the Hawks with 36 kills; Katie Morgan had 24; Lexie Schlotterbeck 21; Morgan Dyer with 18.
Alyssa Shoemaker recorded 46 digs; Emma Wise with 25; Maddie Miller with 24.
Maddie Miller had an astonishing 72 assists while Britney Malphurs had 24.
Morgan Dyer recorded 12 blocks.
"We became better better every match," Morgan said. "We are working out the kinks and figuring out what will work best going forward."
The Hawks will enjoy a week off before heading to Anne Arundel Community College on Tuesday September 10th at 6pm.
