Hawks battle, come up short against the Owls

Hagerstown CC Women's Soccer (4-7-1) traveled to Harford CC (7-4-0) on Tuesday, October 4th for a 5:00 p.m. match against the Owls.

Harford scored first in the sixteenth minute on an unassisted goal by Jamie Moyer (#11). Hagerstown regrouped and started attacking the Owls defense, which paid off late in the first half at the thirty-fourth minute when Mairin Buckley (#13) scored unassisted from thirty yards out to tie the game at 1-1 at the half.

The Owls bounced back in the second half as Moyer scored her second goal in the fifty-eighth minute, and at the seventy-sixth minute mark, Lauren Westbrook scored the third and final unassisted goal for the Owls to defeat the Hawks 3-1.

"Considering the weather conditions throughout this game, I am proud of how we played," remarked Coach Clifton Williams. "The game was exciting with some amazing passing combinations when attacking the Owls backline of defense. It would have been great to have had more shots on goal, but I feel this is the best game the team has played all season."

Let's Go Hawks.
