Hawks over CCBC Cardinals 8-1

Hawks Women's Soccer vs. Harford College

HCC  Women's Soccer 8-1 over CCBC. 

On Tuesday, the Lady Hawks traveled to Catonsville to face the CCBC Cardinals for a 4:00 p.m. match.  At the 16 minute mark, Megan Smith finished a cross from Taylor Neff to put the Hawks on the board, 1-0. Catonsville slipped past the Hawks defence at the 17 minute mark to tie the match at 1-1.  At 18', Rachel Lear launched a shot from 30 yards out out, assisted by Quinn Beck, to put the Hawks ahead 2-1.  Beck drove forward, at the 20' and hit the upper 90, boosting the Hawks to 3-1.   At the 28 minute mark, Smith followed up with a rocket from Lear, to send the Hawks up 4-1.

Momentum kept building for the Hawks, as Maggie Alvarez slipped the ball past the Cardinals keeper to bump the Hawks to a  5-1 lead at the 72', and at the 73', on an assist from Smith, Neff turned around and floated the ball into the back of the net from the top of the 18, giving the Hawks a 6-1 lead.  Late in the match, at the 88 minute mark,  Olivia Zisa danced around the defense, sent the ball across the line to Beck, who found the back of the net, pushing the Hawks lead to 7-1. Taylor Mauck hit the back of the net off a ball from Kirsten Lacey, at the 89', to book the Hawks win over CCBC Catonsville 8-1.
