
On April 12th the Hawks of Hagerstown Baseball team hosted the College of Southern Maryland for a double header.
Game 1 Hagerstown lost 13-3. Facing a tough stating pitcher. They were able to get on base with 7 walks and knock in the 3 runs with a single (Clapsaddle), double (Fisher) and sacrifice fly (Brick).
In Game 2 the Hawks were able to bounce back and heat up the bats. HCC chalked up 10 hits for the game with 8 of the 9 players having a hit. Fisher and Phillips each logged a double, Crittenden had a triple and Clapsaddle added a home run. Clapsaddle led the team with 4 RBI's along with 7 other players having 1 RBI. In the top of the 5th inning Craig Clark took the mound and shut out Southern Maryland, giving up no hits in 3 innings pitched. The Hawks were able to take the lead in the bottom of the 5th and took the W, 12-10.
Next the Hawks will be heading to Garrett County Community College to face the Lakers in a double header on Friday, April 14. Game times are 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
