
The Hawks Baseball team headed to Cumberland Maryland to face off in a double header against the Allegany College Trojans on March 21.
In game one the Hawks had a slow start but in the last 3 innings put up 14 runs to rout the Trojans 15-6. Hawk standouts in the game were Kadin Holmes who went 1-3 with a grand slam and 6 RBI, Dylan Moser 2-3, John Hill 1-3 with 3 RBI, John Clapsaddle 2-3 2 RBI and Blake Badman 2-4 with 2 RBI. Michael Hawbaker got the win giving him a 3-1 record and 3 strikeouts in just 2 innings pitched.
In game two the Hawks took a tough loss to the Trojans 6-7. Only having 7 hits for the game they made them count. Getting the offense going early, the Hawks put up 3 runs in the first 2 innings. Allegany took the lead in the 4th inning posting 3 runs and adding 1 more in the 6th. With rally caps on Chance Phillips hit a solo home run helping the Hawks put up 3 runs to get within 1 of the Trojans in the 7th.
Hagerstown will take the mound again on Sunday March 26 in a double header as they travel to play the Lakers of Garrett College. Game 1 starts at 1:00 pm followed by a 3:30 start for game 2.
