Hawks head south for season start

Hagerstown CC Baseball headed south on Thursday to play the next 11 games of the season at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, FL.  On Saturday, against the College of Lake County, Grayslake, IL, the Hawks split a doubleheader with the Lancers. 

Losing the first game 6-3, Hagerstown went down 4 runs after 2 innings, and then settled in to hold the Lancers to one run for the remainder of the game.  Josh Clapsaddle, Brenden Moshos and Chanse Phillips all had 2 hits in the game with Phillips earning 2 RBIs.

The Hawks rebounded in game two, in a strong offensive effort, lead by Corey Walters who had 2 hits and 3 RBIs.  Josh Clapsaddle and Matthew Kulikowski each had 2 hits, with Clapsaddle adding an RBI.  Michael Hawbaker got the win on the mound, with relief from Todd Stocks.

Next up for the Hawks, Miami University, Hamilton Campus, Hamilton, OH, at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6th.
