VERO BEACH, Fla. — Hagerstown Community College split a pair of games Wednesday in Florida.
The Hawks (6-3) began the day with a shutout loss to Muskegon (Mich.), getting singles from Nate Cotton, Austin Moser, Branden Lynch and Jayden Weida. HCC squandered a potential rally in the sixth inning, loading the bases with none out but failing to score with three straight strikeouts.
Ryan Greene started for the Hawks and pitched well through 4 2/3 innings, allowing one unearned run and striking out seven.
HCC came alive against Manor (Pa.). Robbie Houck had two doubles, two singles and drove in two runs, Lynch had three hits, including a triple, and an RBI and Josh Menders and Dylan Sexton each had two RBIs.
Mitch Potter (2-0) pitched six innings for the win, allowing four hits and two earned runs while striking out nine.
