
VERO BEACH, Fla. — Hagerstown Community College got back on the winning track Sunday, defeating Miami-Hamilton 9-4 and Quebec Academy 7-3.
Against Miami-Hamilton, Evan Marushak had three hits, Josh Menders added two hits and Enrique Morales walked three times to fuel the Hawks' offense. Ryan Greene (1-0) earned the win in relief, working around three hits without allowing a run and striking out two over 1 2/3 innings. Steven Ricketts pitched four scoreless innings for the save, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.
Against Quebec Academy, Branden Lynch had two hits and three RBIs to lead HCC (3-2), which scored four runs in the top of the seventh. Nate Cotton hit an RBI triple, Robbie Houck doubled and Menders singled, drove in a run and stole a base. Seth Hartman went five innings, allowing two unearned runs on three hits while striking out three in a no-decision. Mitch Potter (1-0) allowed one run on one hit and two walks in the sixth and was credited with the victory, and Zach Depoy worked a scoreless seventh, allowing a walk.
