Story by Phil Marshall

The Hagerstown Lady Hawks extended their winning to eight games after defeating Chesapeake in straight sets (25-14), (25-13), (25-17).

Katie Morgan lead with 12 kills, six aces, and two blocks.

Emily Ernst and Kiersten Erickson had four kills each.

Maddie Miller had 19 assists, while Britney Malphurs had nine.

Alyssa Shoemaker led the Hawks with 10 digs.

"The girls played well," Head Coach Rebecca Morgan said. "We struggled with serving consistently, having missed 14 serves."

The Hawks are on an incredible run of only losing five sets in their 10 games played this season.

"In practice we have been working on running plays and continuing to get better each day," Morgan said. "We will continue to work on our serving so the girls can utilize the free balls given to them during the game."

The Lady Hawks will continue their road trip at the Allegany College of Maryland on Tuesday October 1st at 6:00PM where they will go for nine in a row.
